This procession, example of passion and faith, runs through the main streets of the urban core of Sancti Spíritus, constituting one of the most important festivities of the town. On the occasion of the same, the town adorns itself during several days, organizing diverse activities to enhance the festive character of this event, not for that reason obviating the intrinsic element of popular religiosity. Devotion and respect characterize the procession, where the neighbors quietly accompany the Christ, only interrupted by the chords of the band that accompanies the passage, thus manifesting their spirituality and fervor for the venerated image.

After the procession a mass is celebrated, giving way to the big party that will conclude with a great popular festival.
